I'm 99% sure I've been scammed, and desperately need advice.
So, I'm pretty new into the SB business, and I just got here. I was reading through the "It's a scam" post and realized that holy shit, a lot of that matches. He's been sending me checks through email, asking me to deposit them, and when they don't clear all the way he gets a little upset and confused. He doesn't want to wait so he sends me more, in smaller amounts. Asked me to pay his babysitter for him. I was suspicious about this right off the bat, but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Then all of the sudden, he has people sending me money on cashapp, and asking me to turn it into BitCoin, and send it to a random BitCoin wallet. This got me irritated. Then I read through the post here. And I instantly blocked him, reported him on the site I was using, etc. Then one of the checks cleared. And my account went down, showing me that it did NOT go through properly. There are at least 3 other checks I can count that he sent me. I am on the line with my bank right now. But I need advice, and quick!
I found an old wallet and recovery.txt file, but I'm clueless what to do.
Update: Seems to be an empty BitCoin wallet. Thanks to Im_Here_To_Fuck for the help. For those wondering: I took the wallet.dat and used PyWallet to get a wallet.txt file, which gave me a bunch of lines filled with ADDR, PUBKEY, RESERVE and SEC information. Based on that, it looks to be a Bitcoin wallet. I already have Bitcoin Core installed and Syncing, it's about 4 years behind as of this edit. No transactions showing right now with the wallet.dat replaced. I checked Bitcoin explorer for about 30 of the addresses listed - no transactions. Better to know its empty than wonder forever! The files are from 2013 and I don't have a clue if there is even a balance. I don't even remember what currency it was for or what the wallet belongs to. I ran PyWallet but it didn't really clarify anything for me - I think it may be LiteCoin but I'm still stuck - what now? How do I actually get into the wallet or better yet how do I figure out what wallet the recovery code is even for? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks edit: I also noticed I found a debug.txt file and there are dates from 2009 / 2010 in there.
I got hacked and they want money and I don’t know what to do
Okay so I got an email saying I got hacked because I went on a adult site but I don’t remember going on an adult site, I did go on Twitter and clicked on a link but existed when it didn’t load, they said when I was browsing on the videos my internet browser started to act like a RDP and they said a keylogger granted them ability to access my desktop and web cameras but I clicked on that link yesterday or the day before yesterday and I’ve only been watching movies on amazon prime video and my laptop doesn’t have a camera I also clicked on that link on my phone, they also said I can change my passwords but a malware updates needed data every time and they said I need to send them $915 USD and to convert the money into BitCoin, they also gave me their BitCoin wallet address and that I have 2 days to send it and that they know when I opened the email and if I don’t do it they’ll send a video to my contacts. So I’m not sure what to do and I need your advice if you can help :)
I am scared my camera has remotely been hacked.. please help me
I received an email from [email protected] that reads as follows: (I have taken out the web link for the bitcoin address) C:>Hi, this account is now hacked! Change your password right now! C:>_I’m Hacker who cracked your email box and devices not so long ago. C:>_I set up special program on the adult videos (porn) site and guess that you enjoyed this site to have a good time (you understand what I mean). C:>_When you have been taking a look at videos, your internet browser started out to act like a RDP (Remote Control) that have a keylogger that granted me ability to access your desktop and web camera. C:>_Consequently, my software obtained all info. You have typed passwords on the online resources you visited, I already caught them. Of course, you could possibly change them, or perhaps already changed them. But it doesn’t matter, my malware updates needed data every time. C:>_What actually I have done? C:>_I generated a backup of your every system. Of all files and personal contacts. I formed a dual-screen video recording. The first screen demonstrates the film you were watching (you’ve got a very good taste, haha…), and the 2nd screen shows the movie from your webcam. C:>_What should you do? C:>_Great, in my opinion, $ 933 USD Dollars will be a reasonable price for your little secret "Convert the money to the BitCoin currency". You’ll make your deposit by BitCoin (if you don’t recognize this, search “how to purchase BitCoin” in Google). My BitCoin wallet address: C:\ [BITCOIN ADDRESS] C:>( Start with 1 & End with z ). C:>_You have 2 days to perform the payment. (I have an exclusive pixel to this e-mail, and right now I understand that you’ve read this email). To monitor the reading of a letterhead the actions in it, I installed a Facebook pixel. Thanks to them. (Anything that is used for the authorities may help us.) In the event I do not get BitCoin, I shall undoubtedly offer your video files to each of your contacts, including relatives, colleagues, etcetera? I assume it must be spam but can someone please tell me if this is legitimate or not... obviously freaking out at the idea that it could be real
I used to use Bovada until all of my debit/check cards were denied by my banks for deposits. I see they offer Zelle by way of a BitCoin wallet/trader called LocalBitCoins. Is LocalBitCoins a legitimate, secure, and safe method to deposit or has it been sketchy or not worth the hassle for anybody? I am located in the U.S. Thanks.

Attempting to purchase for first time without using ID
I'm looking to purchase bitcoins for the very first time but having read countless articles on how to maintain full anonymity during the transaction I'm a little lost on what is the best method of doing so. I'm currently in Australia where BitCoin atm's are all regulated and require some form of ID which would link myself to the BitCoin wallet so that is out of question. I'm also not in a major city so a face to face transaction is not possible either... I have read however that purchasing Gift Cards from Amazon or I-tunes through a site which does not require any ID to set up an account is an option, although its my understanding that using a Credit Card to process the transaction will create a link between myself and the BitCoins sold to me. Is this assesment correct? If so then is there any way I can trade Gift Cards bought for cash in store for BitCoin? Thanks in advance for the advice.
I paid a school shooter my son hired on the deep web.
Part 1 I’ve been reading the comments and frankly I think some of your responses are sad. For one, my son was thirteen. Implying that I wouldn’t know how to use a computer is hilarious. I’m thirty-four. I’ve been online longer than my son had been alive. That’s the difference between my generation and yours. When I did all my crazy stuff online, there wasn’t such a thing as social media. Let’s just say that if you had been running around on the old Yahoo Chat user rooms or played around on Freednode IRC that you would have run into more than one woman like myself that had been a bit of an exhibitionist in college. I spent three days going through my son’s computer offline. I learned a lot. He kept a detailed journal. Six students and three staff members died in the shooting. With the exception of my son, I think every single one of them deserved to die. The students had been bullying my son. The teachers had been turning a blind eye to the abuse. However, the school counselor was the worst of the bunch. John Garrett had been counseling my son online. David kept logs of all of his DM’s. It didn’t take much reading to find out that Mr. Garrett was grooming my son for a different kind of abuse. John Garrett had manipulated my son into performing lewd acts on webcam. The sick fuck had convinced my son that it would build his self-esteem. What started with nude selfies or the occasional cam show turned into David performing on livestreams for rooms full of anonymous pedophiles who would tip him with Bitcoin and other assorted crypto-currencies. I accessed his Bitcoin wallet and found that these men had paid my son a sum in excess of four Bitcoin. Feel free to check the conversion rate on that one. That was simply my son’s cut. From reading the chat logs, I can only surmise that John Garrett was keeping the larger portion of these tips for himself. Somewhere along the way a few students at his school figured out that my son was a homosexual. Apparently my son had expressed a crush on a local boy who did not share his affection. These idiot kids proceeded to push him into lockers or call him a faggot. When my son would bring this to the attention of his teachers, they’d do nothing. This led to my son talking to John Garrett. If JeffTK hadn’t already seen to his death, I’d have already spent an evening or two peeling the skin from John Garrett’s dick with a potato peeler. If you haven’t guessed already, I’m not posting these updates in real time. Over the course of the last few weeks I have become a bitter woman. I’ve been using my son’s Adderall to stay awake and my husband’s vodka to take the edge off. I’ve already catalogued all of the information on my son’s desktop. I used the funds from his BitCoin wallet to procure a new laptop and I’ve spent my days at home diving into the world John Garrett had introduced him to. Once I was fairly certain I had familiarized myself with enough of the details I went back to that private IRC server with my own screen name. I messaged JeffTK and asked for a QR code I could use to send him the remaining payment. No questions were asked and I sent him the five-thousand dollars my son owed him. What followed was a conversation that read like this: PoesMom: So how does this work? Can I give you another list of names? JeffTK: A list of names? For what? PoesMom: Cute. My son was short-sighted. It didn’t take me long to figure out most of his viewers were associates of John Garrett. JeffTK: We are well aware of that situation. PoesMom: How long did you have a RAT on his system? JeffTK: Long enough. I assume you have three names for me? PoesMom: Four. JeffTK: Four? PoesMom: Four. Andrew Rubens, Sterling Rutherford, Malcolm Turner, and Glenn Wade. JeffTK: Who is Glenn Wade? PoesMom: Glenn Wade is a poster on Reddit who encouraged my son to kill himself. JeffTK: This will cost you more than you have. PoesMom: I’m sure we can work something out. JeffTK: I’m sure we can. Three men who worked as school counselors at various local schools would be having a very bad week. One internet troll would be having a very bad day. Even after dumping all of my son’s crypto-currency I would still be in debt to these men for more than ten-thousand dollars. I didn’t care that people were going to die. Any sympathy I had for the world died with my son. No sooner than I had secured this deal though, I received a phone call. I answered and a very familiar voice said, “Mom, what have you done?” Three weeks of hatred fell away as the tears poured from my eyes. I replied, “David baby? Is that you?” “Why mom? Why are you doing this?” David said in a concerned tone. I shot back, “They took you away from me baby. I’m going to make them pay for it in blood.” I stared down at the cordless handset and realized that it was off. I had been awake for longer than a week. It was becoming harder and harder to distinguish what was real and what was just another hallucination brought on by lack of sleep. I stared at the handset and cried all over again. My son was gone. He had spent the last months of his life being violated and abused by those he was supposed to trust the most. Worst of all, instead of coming to me, he choose to die. No one was going to come out of this sitting pretty. I popped three more pills and chased it with a mixture of sprite and vodka. It wasn’t long before I received a DM that read, “You ready to earn the rest of that money?” Part 3
Weekly changes for top crypto coins are positive. MakerDAO’s MKR crypto rips 40% higher but total value locked in DeFi decreased 3.18% last week. Facebook rebranded Libra wallet to Novi. A report is saying, 60% of Bitcoin has not moved in a year!
Opinions about the Bitcoin actual coin cold wallet.
So I have been in the market for another cold storage wallet, I have a Trezor but was looking to get a different one for different crypto and I ran across gold and silver coins that have the Biotcoin B symbol. Can you only load a whole coin no more no less, or can I load less or more then a coin?... anyone have one of these for Bitcoin or even Ethirium??
Assuming a current 7.8 billion world population and 16 million Bitcoin accessible in a wallet (accounting for lost/immovable coins), that's 205,128 Satoshis per person, or 0.00205 BTC. That costs $13.85 at the current price. Would you pay $14 for your share just in case?
I know times are tough and not everyone can do this, of course necessities come first, but I would say that the price of three coffees or a case of beer is a sacrifice worth making for putting in place a contingency plan, an insurance policy of sorts if our world's banks cannot manage to pull off the saving of the house of cards. With $1200 checks on their way to Americans, some will blow far more than $14 of it on less useful things. I hope things don't have to get that bad before they get better, but if they do I bet you'll be glad you thought of yourself and those who depend you and prepared accordingly.
To give some context, I am new to the subject of UX and BitCoin Wallet, so I may have missed some important parts to guide me or unintentionally regarded them as not important (regarding the usage of the apps). So, let’s start with the first app Jaxx Liberty and then with the Lykke. My main goal is to share my experience with the two application and hopefully help to get foot into the world of bitcoin and UX. I found that using Lykke was much more comfortable then Jaxx Liberty and I will explain in detail why I came to this conclusion in the following paragraphs. Constructive criticism is happly accepted. I will first summaries, point out the critique and conclude my thoughts about the application Jaxx Liberty and then proceed to the second application Lykke. Jaxx Liberty: You start by creating your new wallet and proceed until you see the main site of the application. The structure of the main page is modular but you would expect it to be intuitive which is not the case. At this point you do not know what to do next and you are kind of lost in this application. Then you start clicking randomly through all the let’s say modules. When you go to ‘Global Settings’ you see Security, Settings and Tools and what you can modify or set. You can set a security password or a backup wallet but even if you do that, the explanation regarding the use is not clear. To someone who is new or even bit advanced, is seems that not only is it not intuitive but also the explanation for the different modules or settings are not sufficient to guide. The usability of Jaxx Liberty is not ideal because it is not intuitive to use the application. First, you do not know, do I need to set a password or what is the backup wallet for. The background color looks not reliable to me and save to use the application. That is the perception I have while using the application. In the wallet settings you are easily confused because there is an overload information and you see too many options. In the ‘Manage Wallets’ as a user you see to many possibilities without an explanation what it actually is. The modules look like news widgets and the functions are not self-explanatory which makes it harder to navigate through the app and find your needs. You can customize your interface which provides you with the flexibility. Overall, I would not use the app because it lacks an intuitive design which does cost me additional effort, time and frustration to navigate and find what I really want. Lykke: The first steps are ether you sign in or register and since I am a new user I will register. The procedure to register has the typical steps to type your username, password, email, fingerprint and verify the email and more but these are steps which most people are familiar and its intuitive. As you go through these steps you set up your wallet with ease. On the image on the left you type the necessary information to get access through verification and also to be able to complete your profile. As soon as the your profil resp. wallet is set up by going through the process then you will see the main screen of Lykke. You have the taskbar with the home, assets, trade and More icons which gives a practical overview of the functions. In the home screen you see the icons in a modular setup displayed. The application is well made in the viewpoint of usability because as a user you know where you are at certain moment. The app is intuitive to use, and the background color gives you kind of the feeling of a safe environment and you trust the app/service. A negative point is that it has no CHF as base asset. With just a few clicks you can transfer your bitcoins. Overall, I would use the application Lykke because it's an intuitive and reliable software to use. Also getting used to the application does not take much time which is really convenient in this era of need for instant gratification.
I predict that if we will have physical bitcoins like cash, they will have a small sealed chip that can sign its validity. Either on coins or on cards that have a certain denomination that you keep in your (physical) wallet. Then we will truly have Bitcoin Cash ✌🏻

Hi, I apologize if this is inappropriate to ask but I really need help. I sell digital adult content and got a BitCoin wallet with edge. A customer submitted a payment but I cannot see it yet. I know the transfer can take hours. He sent me a screenshot of the transaction, my address seems to be correct and is demanding the product since the transaction is irreversible. Should I wait until payment is cleared on my wallet? Or is it really imposible to fake a transaction? I’ve seen contradictory information regarding this matter so I don’t know how to proceed. Thanks in advance.
